Fees for Special Reasons / Exceptional Hardship cases
Approx – £2750 – £5550 (ex VAT, Disbursements and Travel Expenses)
These cases involve complex issues and vary on a case by case basis.
Special Reasons can be put forward to avoid driving disqualification or points being endorsed following conviction. A Special Reason is an extenuating issue and not a defence in law. It is directly connected to the commission of the offence and is something that should be considered when imposing a sentence. Special Reasons do not relate to the personal circumstance of an individual or the impact that a specific sentence will have on them.
Exceptional Hardship can be put forward to avoid driving disqualification via ‘totting up’. If your submission of exceptional hardship is successful, it means that the court deems your circumstances ‘exceptional’ and sufficient to justify not imposing a driving ban.
Our fees may vary depending on a number of factors including:
- Complexity of case and issues
- Contacting witnesses/third parties
- Liaising with courts or other third parties
- If the trial runs over half a day
- The location of the trial
- Number of witnesses involved
- Number of offences alleged
